Isolated Thermocouple Layer

The eDAQ Isolated Thermocouple Layer simplifies the process of measuring temperatures using thermocouples.

Each layer provides eight channels of isolated thermocouple signal conditioning. Multiple layers can be added to your existing eDAQ configuration; however, all eight channels on any one layer must be of a single type.

One cold junction sensor per channel. The connectors are standard miniature two prong thermocouple connectors (e.g. Omega part number SMP-X-M where X is the thermocouple type). All eight channels are independently isolated to 500 volts. Sample rates 0.1Hz to 5Hz. Guard filters are used before the ADC on each channel, followed by digital filtering.

Each individual configuration must be handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact your SoMat sales representative to evaluate and suggest the optimal configuration for your testing requirements. The MSITB must be installed by a SoMat technician. Contact Customer Service at support@somat.com or call your local SoMat service center to obtain a Service Order for the MSITB upgrade before sending in your eDAQ.
